South Africa’s only two representatives at the Ricoh Women’s British Open – Ashleigh Buhai and Lee-Anne Pace – have missed the halfway cut at Royal Lytham and St. Annes Golf Club.
Thailands’ Pornanong Phatlum leads the way at -10 after a second 67 helped her move in front with England’s Georgia Hall leading a trio of players one back at -9.
There was little to cheer about for the South African interests with Ashleigh Buhai and Lee-Anne Pace both failing to make the cut.
Buhai, in particular, will be disappointed after coming home in 42. The 29-year-old winner of the 2018 Investec South African Women’s Open at Westlake earlier the in year tripled the last to end any chance of a spot on the weekend. Buhai’s 75 on Friday was one shot more than her efforts in the opening round.
Pace finisher the championship with a round of 78, one better than her Thursday return.
