Ryder Cup captain Padraig Harrington has forced Team Europe into naming his second vice captain after slipping up during a TV interview.
Harrington had already named Robert Karlsson, a member of Thomas Bjorn’s staff in France, but was keeping his next few selections close to his chest. Until his latest media opportunity …
‘I had phone calls today with Guy Kinnings,’ said Harrington.
‘Had a phone call with one of my–Lu-… oh, I nearly said the word. I possibly did say the word there, but one of my vice-captains there, yesterday.’
Team Europe have since then confirmed Luke Donald as their vice-captain on social media.
Is there something you wanted to tell us, @Padraig_H?!
