South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout will play for the Internationals in round two of the Presidents Cup on Friday, which features five fourball matches.
Bezuidenhout was benched for the opening foursomes matches at Quail Hollow on Thursday, which saw the USA, seeking a ninth consecutive victory over the Internationals, take a 4-1 lead.
Bezuidenhout and Chile’s Mito Pereira will play against Americans Kevin Kisner and Cameron Young.
Two triumphant first-day American duos, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele plus Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, will stay together for Friday’s matches.
Spieth and Thomas will open for the US on day two against the Australian pairing of Adam Scott and Cam Davis.
Tokyo Olympic champion Schauffele and Cantlay, the PGA pairs event winners and both ranked among the world’s top-five players, will play in the fourth match against Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama and South Korea’s Kim Joo-hyung.
Top-ranked reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and US countryman Sam Burns will face South Korea’s Im Sung-jae and Colombian Sebastian Munoz.
The day’s final match pits Americans Max Homa and Billy Horschel against Canadians Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith.
Tony Finau and Collin Morikawa will sit out for the US while South Koreans Kim Si-woo and Lee Kyoung-hoon are out for the Internationals.
