How South Africa’s overseas contingent performed over the past week.
US Open Championship (Major championship)
MJ Daffue, making his Major debut, carded a first-round 67 at The Country Club on Thursday, before grabbing a three-stroke lead early in Friday’s second round.
The 33-year-old birdied four of the first seven holes to reach six under par, three strokes ahead of overnight leader Adam Hadwin and four others. However, a back-nine 40, which included three bogeys and a double-bogey at the 18th, left the South African at one under.
