Justin Walters enjoyed a timely confidence boost after banking a top 10 at the lucrative Italian Open, one of the final stops before the season ends.

Walters finished alongside countryman Erik van Rooyen at Olgiata Golf Club in Rome on Sunday as the pair banked €110 616.66 or R1 808 666. The cash windfall was an added plus to his improved Race to Dubai ranking, which jumped 24 places to 121.
He will now be looking to carry on his recent run in the upcoming events in France and Portugal to secure a place in finals series towards the end of the month.
Walters in now ranked 374 in the world, which is a vast improvement on his position this time last week (464).
While Van Rooyen dropped one place to eighth in the Race to Dubai, he takes away the big cheque as well as a rankings improvement. The Scandinavia Invitiation winner is now 56th in the world after moving up seven places.
Louis Oosthuizen dropped three places to sit in 25th place but remains the country’s No 1.
