South Africa’s Erik van Rooyen carded a four-under-par 68 on Friday to move within four shots of the lead at the Valero Texas Open.
Van Rooyen enjoyed a solid day out at TPC San Antonio, rolling in six birdies and making two bogeys for his second-round performance.

It moved him up to five under par after 36 holes, where he will tee off on moving day in T4, alongside Brandt Snedeker, Kyle Stanley and Kevin Stadler.

American Cameron Tringale leads the way at the halfway mark of the Texas Open, following his second-round 69.
Tringale moved up to nine under par for the event and holds a two-shot lead over Matt Wallace and Jordan Spieth.
Charl Schwartzel (even par) and Branden Grace (two over) also managed to make the cut for the weekend, although they have a lot of hard work ahead.
