Branden Grace finds himself in the seventh-to-last tee time on Sunday after a rollercoaster saw him make up ground on the leaders.
Grace was nine behind Dustin Johnson heading into Saturday. And then the wind and baked out Shinnecock Hills greens happened. The Nedbank Golf Challenge champion now has a chance of claiming his first Major title after one of the most contentious days in the US Open history.

Grace’s 72 was almost four shots better than the field as he gained five shots on Johnson, who is one of four players tied for the lead at +3.
The world No 1 lost his final pairing to American duo Daniel Berger and Tony Finau, who shot 66 and then entered the clubhouse as Johnson was beginning to find out the scope of his challenge. DJ’s 77 assured him at least an even start with Berger, Finau and playing partner Brooks Koepka, 72 on Saturday, who is looking to become the first back-to-back winner since Curtis Strange did it in 1988 and 1989.
For the second day in a row, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson will play together as they sit in the third last group for the final round.
Louis Oosthuizen starts his final round at 4:55pm with Pat Perez while Dean Burmester starts his day at 4pm with last year’s runner-up Brian Harman.
