Two of golf’s modern greats – Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson – will bring golf to prime time TV in a $9-million exhibition match set for Las Vegas in November.
Golf’s worst-kept secret is out. Tiger and Phil will combine their star attraction in a winner takes all showdown at Shadow Creek Golf Course as they look to cash in on their fame as America celebrates Thanksgiving.
Many of the leaked details have been confirmed including the wearing of microphones during the content.
‘It’s an opportunity for us to bring golf to the masses in prime time during a period where we don’t have much going on in the world of golf,’ Mickelson told ESPN on Wednesday.
‘It’s a way to show a side you don’t normally see by having us miked up to hear some of the interaction between us.’
The pair, who have shared one of the game’s great rivalries, have 19 Major titles between them.
