A back nine 31 – eight better than Dustin Johnson, leader for much of the tournament – helped Justin Rose to a memorable win. We pick three clutch shots that mattered most.
1. Bunker blast on 16
After finding the greenside bunker off the tee on the short 16th, the Englishman hit a wonderful bunker shot that ran out to allow him to tap in for birdie to move clear of the field.
2. Defining bounce
Despite being called as a ‘pull’ off the tee, Rose’s crisp iron on 17 found the slope in the green to perfection to set up a second consecutive birdie when it mattered most.
3. Holding his nerve
The greens at Sheshan International tested the field this week, but Rose made no mistake from a few feet away on the 72nd hole to secure a par that would give him more than enough breathing room.
