Justin Thomas narrowly edged past Lee Westwood to claim the PLAYERS Championship on Sunday for a 14th PGA Tour victory.
Thomas delivered a flawless display at TPC Sawgrass over this past weekend, culminating in a relentless conclusion to a spectacular week in Florida.
Westwood and Bryson DeChambeau started in the final pairing of the day but were in trouble early on, opening the door for Thomas to make a push.
After a slow start, Thomas kicked into gear after the turn, going birdie-eagle-birdie from holes 10-12 to move ahead of Westwood.

The Englishman remained in the contest, however, but battled to stay in touch, launching a number of recoveries after multiple drop shots.
Thomas signed off with a further birdie on the 16th, keeping his cool on the challenging final three holes of the course.
He signed off on 14 under par for the week, two strokes ahead of Westwood at the time, who was teeing off on the 18th after a bogey on 17.
It was all but over for Westwood, who needed an eagle on the final hole to force a playoff, but instead settled for a good birdie as Thomas claimed victory by a single stroke.

In doing so, Thomas became only the fourth player to ever have won the PLAYERS, a Major, a WGC event and the FedEx Cup.
In the end, Bryson DeChambeau and Brian Harman finished two shots off the pace in T3 with Talor Gooch and Paul Casey on 11 under and in T5.
South Africa’s Dylan Frittelli concluded his week brilliantly at the PLAYERS, carding a final-round four-under-par 68 on Sunday to end the week in T22 on five under.
Louis Oosthuizen and Christiaan Bezuidenhout both settled on two under par for the event.
