Erik van Rooyen will be the fifth and final South African onto the course late on Saturday during round three of The Open Championship at Carnoustie.
Van Rooyen and Zander Lombard both sit at -4 through 36 holes; two shots behind co-leaders Kevin Kisner and Zach Johnson.
Neither Van Rooyen nor Lombard have won on the European Tour but now face the exciting prospect of playing with little expectations.
Lombard is out in the tee time before his countrymen at 4:20pm with US Open challenger Tony Finau.
Matt Kuchar, last year’s runner-up in that monumental battle with Jordan Spieth, joins Van Rooyen for the third round at 4:30pm, one slot ahead of Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele.
Tommy Fleetwood and Pat Perez are the penultimate pairing with Johnson and Kisner out last at 5pm.
Last week’s winner Brandon Stone, -2 at this stage, is joined by Ryder Cup hopeful Ryan Moore at 3:40pm.
Louis Oosthuizen is the first South African off on Saturday when he starts his move up the leaderboard at 1:55pm with Stewart Cink, the man cast as the criminal after edging Tom Watson, then 59, for the Claret Jug at Turnberry in 2009.
At 2:15pm, Tiger Woods starts his day and is joined by South Africa’s Shaun Norris. The pair are six behind the leaders and will look to take advantage of their early start.
