Compleat Golfer playing editor Brandon Stone has hailed the excellent competition on the Sunshine Tour and Challenge Tour after his playoff win at the Limpopo Championship this past Sunday.
Stone showed excellent composure, making birdie on the first playoff hole to edge Hennie du Plessis, Oliver Bekker and Daniel van Tonder to the title.
Speaking after the event, Stone showed his appreciation for the daunting competition that comes from these co-sanctioned events.

‘Regardless of what anyone says, the Sunshine Tour and the Challenge Tour are tremendous tours. These guys are hungry to play. These guys are cutthroat, they’re vicious, they’re brutal golfers, they want to win,’ Stone explained.
‘You can see it by three out of the Sunshine Tour players being in the playoff there. South Africans have typically been extremely difficult to beat on home shores and I have no doubt that I would be the last South African raising a Challenge Tour trophy over my head in the next couple of weeks. But, in saying that, every victory is special and to win at home is obviously a little bit more, but I haven’t won in a few years so to get that monkey of my back again is fantastic.’
