Tyrone van Aswegen will begin another stint on the PGA Tour when the Safeway Open begins on Thursday at Silverado Resort & Spa.
The South African is set to play his third PGA Tour season after finishing 98th in the FedEx Cup last season, courtesy of top-fives at the Frys.com Open and the Travelers Championship.
The wraparound 2016/17 season has a range of South Africans in the mix, but this week only Van Aswegen and Retief Goosen will tee up in California.
American youngster Justin Thomas leads the favourites, while Englishman Paul Casey and Australian Cameron Smith are also expected to perform.
