The Shenzen International has been plagued by bad weather, but Brandon Stone has kept a level head and scored well throughout the week at Genzon Golf Club. Play was suspended at the time he reached the turn on Sunday, at which stage he was two shots behind leader Lee Slattery.
Stone won the SA Open earlier this year and has put himself in position to contend for another title. He has shown great patience during the on-and-off rounds of golf in China, where he experienced suspensions in play during three of his four rounds.
His ball striking through the week has been impeccable and he’s made two bogeys in three-and-a-half rounds of golf. His consistency has been rewarded and he sits at 12-under-par, two shots off the pace.
Stone is yet to drop a shot on the back nine at Genzon Golf Club and will surely believe that he can catch Slattery on the stretch when play resumes.
