Dylan Frittelli put his name into the mix on Sunday with a scintillating 62 and despite being leapfrogged was one of a few South Africans to earn a rankings boost, writes WADE PRETORIUS.
The John Deere Classic winner vaulted up the board on Sunday with a 62 at Hilton Head. While Webb Simpson fended off Abraham Ancer for the tartan jacket, Frittelli was able to leave Harbour Town Golf Links with a cheque worth $186,375 (R3,245,161) after notching up a top-10 finish.

The result moved him closer to re-entering the top 100 as he climbed 11 places to sit in 105th place.
Erik van Rooyen was another in the green on Monday as he was left to rue a good opportunity to strengthen his bid for a PGA Tour card. The South African, now resident in Florida, finished with a 70 and dropped 13 places to share 21st place.
Van Rooyen, who banked R1,205,345 for his week’s work, was consoled by a four-place rise up the Official World Golf Ranking where he now sits in 40th – remaining the second-best South African on tour behind Louis Oosthuizen (21st).
Up three places to 45th in the world, and third from a local perspective, is Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who finished one back from Van Rooyen.
The Andalucía Masters winner took home R846,832.
