South African golfer Victor Lange has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a statement released by the PGA Tour on Wednesday.
Playing on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica circuit, Lange tested positive in South Africa, having recently returned from an event held in Mexico.
The Johannesburg-born hasn’t shown any symptoms yet, but is expected to go into quarantine in order to make a successful recovery.
‘We appreciate Victor’s prompt disclosure of his diagnosis, which allows the PGA Tour to not only alert those he may have come in contact with during his lone PGA Tour Latinoamerica start this season, but also provides an opportunity to remind fans of the critical need to follow current recommendations and mandates to protect others,’ read the statement from the PGA.
