Brandt Snedeker knows what it takes to get it done on Sunday at Glen Abbey Golf Club, and he knows how to win after holding a 54-hole lead, too.
Snedeker, ranked 7th in the FedExCup standings, has held at least a share of the 54-hole lead eight times in his PGA Tour career, carrying three previous leads onto victory.
The most recent of those? The RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey in 2013.
Snedeker holds a one-stroke advantage over two players including Canadian amateur Jared du Toit and Dustin Johnson, ranked first in the FedExCup standings.
Snedeker held the 54-hole lead earlier this season at the Sony Open in Hawaii, but went on to lose in a playoff to Fabian Gomez. He captured the Farmers Insurance Open the very next week.
The American, whose six-under 66 on Saturday included a run of five-straight birdies, and Du Toit, who nailed a 40-foot eagle on his final hole of the day, will be in the last pairing.
Just last year another Canadian, David Hearn, held the 54-hole lead and was part of the final group. He would go on to finish third.
There are 10 players within three shots of Snedeker’s lead, which should make for a Sunday shootout at the firm-and-fast Glen Abbey as he looks for a second win this season.
