Australian Adam Scott has become the latest PGA Tour player to test positive for Covid-19 and has subsequently withdrawn from this week’s Zozo Championship.
The former Masters champion joins a concerning growing list of players who have been infected with coronavirus in recent weeks.
Most notably, current world No 1 Dustin Johnson had to withdraw from last week’s CJ Cup after he returned a positive test, while Tony Finau also contracted the virus recently.

Scott would have made his first appearance since last month’s US Open at Winged Foot as players begin to tighten up their preparations for the looming Masters.
The 40-year-old will now have to conduct a period of self-isolation where he will receive all the necessary support from the PGA Tour.
‘While it is difficult news to receive – as I really looked forward to playing this week – my focus is now on recovery for the final stretch of the fall,’ Scott said.
He has automatically been replaced by first alternate Jim Herman for the Zozo Championship, which tees off on Thursday.
