Charl Schwartzel will start Sunday’s final round at the AT&T Byron Nelson only three strokes off the pace after carding a brilliant round of 66 on moving day.
Schwartzel, who hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since 2016, looks well poised to make a surge for the top of the leaderboard if he can sign off in style on Sunday.
Five birdies, an eagle and a single bogey across his third round saw Schwartzel shot up the leaderboard into T3 in what was another low scoring day at TPC Craig Ranch.
The South African signed off on 17 under par with American Sam Burns leading the way on 20 under for the week, while Lee Kyoung-hoon is in second place on 19 under.
Schwartzel, though, is joined by Jordan Spieth, Matt Kuchar and Alex Noren in third spot in what promises to be an exciting finish to the event on Sunday.
