Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen will go in search of team glory when the second edition of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans starts on Thursday.
The Presidents Cup duo will combine for the first time after Branden Grace, awaiting the birth of his first child, did duty with Oosthuizen last year. That combination finished in the bunch tied for 24th place, 12 shots behind Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith, who needed four playoff holes to see off Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown for the title.
The format will see better-ball on Thursday and Saturday with foursomes on Friday and Sunday.
Retief Goosen and Tyrone van Aswegen, who tied the better-ball record with Kisner and Brown with a second round 60, will rekindle their partnership, with Rory Sabbatini joining controversial American John Daly as the last South African in the field.
The TPC Louisiana, a Pete Dye-designed course which measures 7,425 yards, will host a number of high-profile teams including Jordan Spieth and Ryan Palmer, Justin Thomas and Bud Cauley, Spanish duo Sergio Garcia and Rafael Cabrera Bello, Jon Rahm and Wesley Bryan, Olympic gold and silver medalists Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson, Ryder Cup regulars Bubba Watson and Matt Kuchar and reigning Masters champion Patrick Reed who has Shriners Hospitals for Children Open winners Patrick Cantlay.
