In-form Olesen, looking to become the first home winner, is currently in the last qualifying spot with Englishmen Pepperell and Fitzpatrick capable of passing him this week; the last week to book a place on the team for the Ryder Cup showdown at Le Golf National in Paris on 28 September.

Ian Poulter, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Paul Casey are playing in the second FedExCup playoff event, which means they will not accrue any points on the World Points List.
Another player to watch this week is Thomas Pieters, a successful rookie in his side’s losing cause in Hazeltine in 2016. The Belgian joins Team Europe vice-captain Lee Westwood and Olesen for the first two rounds as Thomas Bjorn sends his potential team members out alongside his assistants.
Fitzpatrick, who can pass Olesen with a win, will play with vice-captain Robert Karlsson, who is also making his 600th appearance on the European Tour this week, and fellow Englishman Matt Wallace.
Pepperell, a would-be rookie in Paris, will tee up this week with Martin Kaymer and Bjorn.
Francesco Molinari, Justin Rose, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Alex Noren have already secured their places on the team.
The final four spots will be announced on 5 September.
