Haydn Porteous made waves at The Open Championship this week, where he was on major debut and finished in a share of 30th with rounds of 70, 76, 68, 72.
The Joburg Open winner played his first nine on Thursday in 30 strokes and went on to card one-under-par for his first round. After struggling on Friday and barely making the cut, he fought back on moving day with a superlative 68.
Sunday presented tough conditions, but Porteous went round in 72 to total two-over-par for the tournament, which meant a share of 30th alongside Jordan Spieth, Russell Knox, Darren Clarke, Ryan Palmer, and Thomas Pieters.
