The PLAYERS Championship will go ahead as scheduled with the PGA Tour continuing to monitor the threat of Covid-19 to the competition.
In a statement released on Thursday, the organisers indicated that they are well aware of the rapid growth of the coronavirus pandemic across the world and the impact it is having on sports and public events.
The PGA Tour is currently receiving recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization and local health administrations on what steps to follow to insure the safety of players and spectators.
‘This is obviously a very fluid situation that requires constant review, communication and transparency, and we are dedicated to all three aspects. The PGA TOUR will provide an additional update by 12pm ET on Thursday,’ concluded the statement.
