The PGA Tour is set to announce this week the return of the golfing season on 11-14 June when the Charles Schwab Challenge gets under way in Texas.
According to sources at Golf Digest, the organisers are looking to get the new golf schedule up and running at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, while closely following government safety guidelines to combat further spreading of the coronavirus.
The devastation currently caused by the pandemic means that a number of golf events could be held behind closed doors at first.
A revised schedule was confirmed last week, which indicated the PGA Championship, the US Open and the Masters have all been postponed until later dates this year, most notably a November frame for Augusta National.

As a result, the 149th Open Championship in Kent has been cancelled but will be held under the same structure next year.
PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh in an interviewed with SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio on Tuesday said the tour is fully committed to get tournaments done, even if it means without any fans present.
‘If the safest or the only way to [hold the PGA] is to do it without fans, we’re fully prepared to do that. We believe that having it as a television event is worth doing regardless of whether there’s fans there or not,’ said Waugh.
