A highlight on the Winelands events calendar, the Vodacom Shop Celebrity Golf Day presented by Safari Outdoor, will take place on Thursday 19 October 2017 at Pearl Valley at Val de Vie Estate.
The event, in aid of the Val de Vie Foundation, provides support for a better life for all in the Paarl-Franschhoek Valley. Proceeds from the 2017 Celebrity Golf Day will go to 2nd Harvest Foodbank at the Paarl School of Skills, who have made it their mission to eradicate hunger in the Berg River Valley.
Last year the likes of A-list celebrities like Maps Maponyane, Reuben Riffel, Kurt Darren, Ryk Neethling, Jean de Villiers and Rob Louw, to name a few, showed camaraderie and played some good golf to raise funds for the construction of a roof over the quad at Orleansvale Primary School in Paarl.
This year, prior to the players teeing off at the pristine Jack Nicklaus signature golf course at Pearl Valley, a bidding will take place where teams will select their celebrity of choice to make up a four-ball team, and join them for a day out on the course. With on course activations and competitions by our various sponsors, the prediction is for a fun-filled, exciting event – all for a great cause.
Following the round of golf is a bespoke prize-giving dinner and auction in the recently renovated Pearl Valley event venue that can seat up to 180 guests. Celebrities will be staying for the night at the new Pearl Valley Hotel, operated by Mantis, and treated to the official opening of the Polo Season Opening at the Val de Vie Pavilion on Friday 20 October with a summertime-inspired luncheon. The Val de Vie Pavilion annually hosts the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo & Cintron Pink Polo events.
Vodacom Shop headlines this year’s event, flanked by sponsor Safari Outdoor and property partner Cape Winelands Properties. Autus Family Office ( financial partner), Turkish Airlines (official travel partner), Compleat Golfer (media partner), and SWAGG all join the party, with MetCon & Finex as commodity partner for the event.
