Louis Oosthuizen closed out his week with a great day on the greens but it wasn’t enough to put on a real Sunday show at TPC River Highlands.
Out early, the one-time Major champion gained 3.9 strokes on the field with the putter. That ordinarily would correlate with a sensational round but things didn’t quite click.
Instead, it was a fairly mild two under 68 to end the week on -7. He was six under after round one.
Oosthuizen got a red number on the board on the third but made bogey from the fairway 160 yards out on the next. He missed from 12 feet on the sixth but did turn one under par after a birdie from 18 feet on the ninth.
He drained his 15 footer on the 11th for another birdie but hit two in the water on 13 for a disastrous double. He got those drops back with two in a row including his first par or better on the short par 4 15th where he had previously lost five strokes this week.
A trio of pars saw him wrap up his work well before the leaders teed off on Sunday.
