Louis Oosthuizen continued his fine play at the CIMB Classic on Saturday as he moved to within two strokes of the lead heading into the final round.

The popular South African has found something in his game in Kuala Lumpur this week with fairways and greens coming with remarkable ease.

Oosthuizen birdied four out of the first five holes in round three to lay down a marker as he attempts to chase down Marc Leishman, Gary Woodland and rising Indian star Shubhankar Sharma.

A birdie at the 10th was backed up by gains at the 13th and 14th as Oosthuizen continued his rapid climb up the leaderboard.

He would give one back at the next before his eighth birdie of the day was secured at the 16th. In all, he needed just 28 putts for his round of 65 which suitably backed up his opening efforts of 66 and 68 for a championship score of -17.

That number sees him share fourth place with USA’s Bronson Burgoon with Leishman, Woodland and Sharma all at -19 as the tournament braces itself for a thrilling climax.

Ernie Els moved up 15 places after a round of 66 saw him finish in the pile in 27th place. Two shots back at -8 is Branden Grace, playing in his second appearance since undergoing a procedure on his shoulder to correct a tendon tear.

Justin Harding dropped 20 places after a 73 and shares 42nd place in the no-cut event.
