The Nedbank Golf Challenge will form part of the exciting European eTour for 2020 after a new groundbreaking partnership was reached between Nedbank and the European Tour.
With this year’s edition of Africa’s Major cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, fans will now get the chance to tune in across the Tour and World Golf Tour’s social channels from 4-6 December for a weekend of exciting golf gaming.
The event will be held on the WGT video game with 128 players allowed to qualify in line for the top prize of $5,ooo for the winner.

In a statement, European Tour CEO Rufus Hack expressed his delight to team up with Nedbank for this innovative project.
‘We are delighted to have Nedbank partner with us on the European eTour and are excited by the prospect of bringing a new tournament in the Nedbank Golf Challenge to the WGT community.
‘With support from our venture partners, DreamHack Sports Games and Top Golf Media, we will continue to develop the initiative into something that is engaging for players and entertaining for fans as we seek to drive golf further,’ said Hack.
Similarly, Nedbank head of group sponsorships and cause marketing, Tobie Badenhorst, is just as excited that a ‘different’ version of the Nedbank Golf Challenge can be staged in spite of all the challenges of 2020.
‘We’re pleased to be able to make this partnership possible and bring the eTour to South Africa. We always aim to give our clients market-leading experiences and this provides an opportunity for us to engage the Nedbank Golf Challenge fans and eSports fans in the country in a new way,’ Badenhorst said.
