World No 1 Rory McIlroy has revealed the funny and satisfying moment he enjoyed during the Genesis Invitational pro-am in February.
Speaking on the Rory & Carson Podcast, McIlroy recounted when Tiger Woods, who was playing in the group ahead of him, jokingly tended the flag while the Northern Irishman was playing a shot from the fairway, some 190-yards out.
McIlroy, under a little bit of pressure to produce a quality shot, almost holed out from that distance that meant Woods had to move his feet out of the way as the ball was edging closer to the cup.

‘He was sort of messing around and saw that I was waiting in the fairway so he tended the flagstick for me from 190. It gave me this incentive that I really wanted to hit a good shot here – a little under pressure – and I hit a 6-iron and he actually had to move his left foot out of the way of the golf ball,’ said McIlroy
‘I don’t care what happens this week, that is the best moment. I was so happy.’
