World number 44 Alison Lee pulled three strokes clear in the third round of the Hana Bank Championship with a Saturday round of 68.
‘I’ve been in this situation before,’ said the 21 year old. ‘I mean, I do have a few strokes ahead of the field; I feel like there are a lot of birdies out there you can get, and a lot bogeys as well.’
The American was 13 under par after 54 holes and led her countrywoman Brittany Lang by three shots, followed by local In-Kyung Kim in third place.
Lee-Anne Pace struggled around in 76, slumping from her second round of 68 and finishing the third round in a share of 60th place.
Lee, meanwhile, soared to front and must retain her advantage to secure a maiden win on the LPGA Tour.
‘It’s still anyone’s game. I have to go back and do some reading for class, so that’ll keep my mind off it for sure,’ said Lee, who has played on the tour since 2015 in conjunction with her studies at the UCLA.
