Sun City has announced one of its most comprehensive entertainment line-ups in the history of the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player, with the acclaimed resort featuring a world of entertainment during the week of ‘Africa’s Major’ from 8-11 November.
Under the 2018 theme of ParTee on the Green, Sun City’s tournament entertainment begins as early as 8am on the Monday of the Nedbank Golf Challenge and continues right through and in almost every corner of the resort until midnight on the Sunday of the final round.
Whether it’s a marimba band in the Cascades Hotel, drumming in The Palace of the Lost City, live music in the Superbowl or the major restaurants and bars, DJs at the famous Beach Party, or cover bands rocking the hospitality village, the party won’t stop when the last putt drops at the Gary Player Country Club each day.
The hospitality village will be where most of the entertainment is focused during the four days of the tournament. On the Thursday, Friday and Saturday the entertainment here will begin at 16:00 and run right through until 23:00. On Sunday it will end at 19:00, but the entertainment throughout the rest of the resort will continue well into the evening.
Golf fans can expect a hospitality village jampacked with a wide offering of food and drinks to go with the live music and exciting sponsor activations, and there will even be a big screen on Saturday 10 November to watch the Springbok Test against France.
‘We are going all out to create a festival of live music and entertainment that for the week of the Nedbank Golf Challenge will turn Sun City into the place to be, whether you are there for the golf or not. And as a golf fan you can be assured that when play stops each day, the party continues off the course,’ said Rob Collins, Sun International Group Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer.
As a world within a city, Sun City offers over 30 restaurants to cater to every taste. And its wide variety of activities range from Big Five action in the nearby Pilanesberg National Park; to the waterslides at the Valley of Waves; the outdoor adventure hub Adrenalin Extreme; a two-kilometre long zip line; and parasailing, waterskiing, jet-skis, paddleboats, a wake snake, wake boarding and boat rides at Waterworld.
During the Nedbank Golf Challenge, specialised children’s programmes will include fun workshops at Kamp Kwena and a host of other supervised activities.
