Justin Thomas has moved up to second in the world after his win at the PLAYERS Championship this past weekend, overtaking Jon Rahm in the process.
Thomas, who has been in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings for more than three-and-a-half years now, starts the new week with his highest-ranking position since last year’s PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park.
With Dustin Johnson still safely secured at the summit of the game, Rahm now sits in third place, following his T9 finish in Florida.

Thomas’ efforts also delivered a decent payout – $2,700,000 for winning the event – which converts to a staggering R40,346,910.
After consecutive runner-up finishes, Lee Westwood’s rise up the rankings continued as he moved up to 19th in the world.
It is the first time since October 2013 that the Englishman finds himself in the world top 20 in terms of rankings.
Westwood’s birdie on the final hole during the final round was enough to earn him sole second spot at the PLAYERS, giving him a payout of $1,635,000 (R24,387,823.50).
South Africa’s Dylan Frittelli took home $135,964 (R2,028,052.62) for his T22 finish at TPC Sawgrass, while both Louis Oosthuizen and Christiaan Bezuidenhout got $53,250 (R794,834.53) for ending in T41.
