Jbe’ Kruger shot a moving-day 65 at Royal Selangor Golf Club on Saturday and rose into 13th place one round after making the cut on the number.
The diminutive bomber was bogey free for the second day in a row and went six-under-par to make the clubhouse on seven-under-par for the tournament.
Australia’s Nathan Holman gave up his lead with a round of 73 and was overtaken by Korea’s Soomin Lee, who was 15-under-par total and three shots ahead of second-placed Marcus Fraser.
‘I feel a little bit nervous thinking about the final round but I will try my best. This weekend will be very good for my golf life,’ said Lee.
‘It was very exciting today. I had a good feeling this week because I like playing on this course. I hit many important iron shots and tried to putt close to the hole but it went in, so I gained some confidence on the greens,’ he added.
Keith Horne shot 69 on Saturday to join a tie for 25th place, while local favourite Louis Oosthuizen shot 73 to slide 25 place down into a share of 37th.
