Jbe’ Kruger carded 69 on Saturday for round three of the Venetian Macao Open to share 30th place on three under par, seven shots behind the lead.
The Bloemfonteiner shared 15th place at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship last week after wrapping up the tournament with a round 66 at St. Andrews.
He switched from links golf to Asian heat this week at Macau Golf & Country Club, going round in two under par 69 on Saturday to join six others in a tie for 30th place.
Indians Anirban Lahiri and S Chikkarangappa co-led on 10 under par after each shooting 69 on Saturday, and were followed by a five-way tie for third place on nine under par.
Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent led at the start of the day, but stumbled to a round of 76 to share 30th going into Sunday.
Kruger’s form is returning as the weekend heats up and, while he might not have the chance to win, he’s certainly capable of making the top five.
Branden Grace struggled to find his rhythm and shot 72 to join a tie for 45th place on one under par, coming into the clubhouse a stroke behind Brazilian Adilson da Silva, who was tied-37th.
