Max Homa beat Tony Finau in a playoff to win the Genesis Invitational this past Sunday for only his second PGA Tour victory.
Both Homa and Finau enjoyed exceptional final rounds to move above overnight-leader Sam Burns to the top of the leaderboard.
A strong wind once again provided players with a big test at the Riviera but Homa and Finau finished on 12 under par to force a playoff.

Homa, however, had a three-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to win the competition – but he lipped it to head into the clubhouse alongside Finau as the leaders.
The players returned to the 10th where Homa recovered brilliantly to perfectly execute a chip shot from right next to a tree. Both Homa and Finau had birdie putts but missed, settling for pars that took them to their second playoff hole.
The par-three 14th was next in store and Homa hit a perfect tee shot that presented him with a birdie opportunity on the green. He missed the opportunity but Finau struggled and failed to sink his par putt, which handed the victory to Homa.

In what was only his second victory since his triumph at the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship, Homa was elated, receiving the Genesis Invitational trophy from Tiger Woods.
In the end, Burns secured third place with Australian Cameron Green in fourth. Joh Rahm, Viktor Hovland and Matthew Fitzpatrick all ended in T5.
South Africa’s Branden Grace signed off with an even-par round to finish his week on three under and in T20, while Charl Schwartzel went three over on Sunday, ending the event on five over par.
