Sunshine Tour Rookie of the Year, Garrick Higgo, ensured a solid return to competitive action with a T6 result at the Euram Bank Open, writes WADE PRETORIUS.
Higgo, who was second at the co-sanctioned Cape Town Open earlier in the year, carded his fourth sub-70 round to close out a productive week.
While unable to close the gap to Joel Stalter, who finished at -14 to win the second European Tour event back after the lockdown break, the left-hander once again stormed in the clubhouse.
A front side 40 put paid to any thoughts of victory as Higgo carded four bogeys and a double on his way out.
The talented young star bounced back in fine fashion with four birdies in a row from the 12th hole and a closing birdie at the par 3 18th to rise up three places from his starting position in round four.
Higgo banked R258 534 for his efforts.
