Garrick Higgo and Dean Burmester got their week at the Terefine Open off to an excellent start by finishing the opening round on Thursday one shot behind the leader.
The South African pair carded respective rounds of 63 to go eight under for the opening day of play.
Higgo, fresh off his victory from last week, made a flying start with three birdies and an eagle on his opening five holes.

Burmester managed to sink nine birdies with a single bogey to finish the round next to Higgo in T2 on the leaderboard.
They are joined by American John Catlin and Sweden’s Alexander Bjork – all one stroke behind Denmark’s Thorjorn Olesen, who shot a nine-under-par 62 for the opening round.
Justin Harding carded a five-under 66 to start his week, while Louis de Jager went three under and Haydn Porteous and Justin Walters both signed off on three under par for the day.
Zander Lombard went even par for his day thanks to a round of 71.
