On Wednesday a special announcement was made about the Lion of Africa Cape Town Open. Heath Slocum, an internationally successful player, will tee up at Royal Cape Golf Club for the R1,5-million tournament, which runs from 24 to 27 November.

‘To have a four-time winner on the PGA Tour brings a lot of experience,’ said Duncan Cruickshank, communications director of the Sunshine Tour. ‘His influence on the players around him at the tournament can only do good things for local golf. He’s looking to reignite his career and is desperate to see Cape Town and South Africa.’
