South Africa’s Justin Harding enjoyed a magnificent day out at the British Masters and moved into T2 at the halfway mark of the event.

Harding produced a scintillating round of eight-under-par 63 on Friday, which included a total of six birdies on the front nine. Three of these came on the opening three holes, while he added two more on the final nine to finish bogey-free for his second round.

The 34-year-old will start Friday’s third round on ten under par, alongside England’s Dale Whitnell with Italian Renato Paratore the leader on 11 under.

Haydn Porteous also managed to move into the red on Friday with a round of two under as did Compleat Golfer‘s playing editor Brandon Stone, who finished on one under par.

With the cut set at one under, a whole host of other South Africans will take some time off over the weekend.

After a solid 69 on Wednesday, Louis de Jager struggled a bit during his second round to go three over for the day. He finished alongside Bryce Easton on one over for the week.

Zander Lombard (+2), Dean Burmester (+3) and Justin Walters (+6) endured a testing two days at the Close House Golf Course and will be hoping for more composure in the English conditions from next week.
