Fresh off his win in Nairobi this past weekend, Justin Harding moved to the top of the leaderboard at the end of day one at the Kenya Savannah Classic on Tuesday.
Harding sealed a second European Tour win with victory at the Magical Kenya Open only two days ago. But, in a rather busy and unusual week in the world of golf, it was a quick turnaround for the European Tour players.
Preview: WGC Match Play groups explained
An opening-round seven-under-par 64 was enough for the 35-year-old to sign off with a share of the early lead with Alejandro Canizares, Joost Luiten and Clement Sordet the other top performers.
They will head into Thursday’s second round with a one-shot lead over a group of eight players who ended the round on six under. They include South African trio Darren Fichardt, Marthiam Keyser and Daniel van Tonder.
