South Africa’s Branden Grace has become the latest PGA Tour golfer to test positive for Covid-19 prior to his third round at the Barracuda Championship on Saturday.
Grace, who has been in excellent form over his opening two rounds, was due to make a charge for the lead by starting the day in T2.

But, his tournament was brought to an abrupt end when a test revealed that he had contracted the coronavirus and will have to spend the next 14 days in quarantine.
‘I felt great all week,’ said Grace.
‘Last night, I was tired and thought it had to do with the altitude. This morning, I notified the PGA TOUR about my symptoms before going to the golf course. I wanted to get tested out of respect for my peers and everyone involved with the tournament. While it is unfortunate given my position on the leaderboard, the most important thing is our health.’
The tour will now follow their strict guidelines to determine and trace those people Grace had close contact with over the last couple of days.
His caddie, however, tested negative as a result.
