• Grace happy with season’s progress

    Els soars, Grace struggles
    Grace is progressing nicely

South Africa’s Branden Grace is taking the positives after a good week at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town, where he finished with a share of 11th place.

Grace has already racked up $663,969 in winnings this year, with his best finish coming in South Carolina this weekend. The 2016 winner had only one round in the 70s as he secured his best finish of the season.

‘It was all right. Obviously I would have enjoyed to be a few better. I thought I played a lot better than what the end result was. Yesterday and today I left a few out there,’ said Grace.

‘I’m happy. It’s always nice to come back. It’s nice to see the way they do it and it was nice to be a defending champion in such a tournament as this.’

Grace, who finished T27 at The Masters two weeks ago, feels his game is trending in the right direction as the season heats up.

‘I felt the game was coming along a couple of weeks ago. And last week was obviously progressing the right way.

‘And obviously this week I would have enjoyed to be better. But I still feel there are a lot of positives. It’s one of those that if it just goes your way a couple of times out there, the scores instead of being 3-under, it’s going to be 6- or 7-under. So I’m excited and look forward to when that happens.’

Grace is in Texas this week, where he joins Rory Sabbatini, Retief Goosen and Tyrone van Aswegen in the field.
