Retief Goosen went seven-under-par for the first round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, where he was sold second before play was suspended due to bad light.
The two-time US Open champion roared through the front nine in 30 strokes on his way to a round of 65, which left him one stroke behind leader Brian Stuard.
‘I birdied the first few holes and just played really solid for about 13 holes. I made a few good putts for a change,’ said 47-year-old Goosen.
