The PGA of South Africa was a key signatory to the proposal alongside GolfRSA and CMASA.
‘A presentation from all stakeholders has been submitted to the Minister of Sport and has been positively received,’ said PGASA CEO Ivano Ficalbi in an update to his members.
A meeting has now been set for Thursday afternoon between golf’s representatives and minister Nathi Mthethwa to discuss the points proposed for the opening of golf facilities.
‘I am grateful for this opportunity extended to golf and to align with government’s goals of saving lives and preventing the spread of the disease,’ he added.
Ficalbi called for patience among members during the ongoing period and reiterated that golf remains suspended until after the conclusion of the proposed meeting later this week.
