Sergio Garcia may face further backlash from his peers and the PGA TOUR after footage emerged as him taking revenge on a tee box.
The latest incident follows his attempted PR rescue after his disqualification from the Saudi Open. On that occasion, he was reprimanded – but escaped suspension – for damaging a number of greens and violently lashing out in a bunker.
‘What happened is not an example I want to set, and it’s not who I truly am. I’m focused on working hard to channel that emotion the correct way and to be the best me, learn from it and move forward,’ he said in the wake of the Saudi incident.
At the Open, Garcia’s actions drew an audible gasp when he threw his driver at his caddie, brother Victor.
