South Africa’s Dylan Frittelli was pleased with his efforts at the Shenzhen International, despite struggling with his putter on the final day.

The former University of Texas golfer could not find the birdies on Sunday as he struggled in his bid to chase down Austrian Bernd Wiesberger.

‘Pretty boring golf,’ said Frittelli after his final round 70.

‘Made a bunch of pars and a few birdies, but a bit of a struggle on the greens.

‘I think I’ve fared pretty well and happy with the whole week’s performance. It’s my rookie season and it’s great to get a top ten. I’ve had a lot of top 20s in the last few events, so haven’t finished too strong on the last 18, but I did that today.

‘I didn’t play amazing golf, but I held on and did well.’

Frittelli finished two shots ahead of the next best South African, George Coetzee.

Coetzee, who has three European Tour wins to his name, finished with a quadruple bogey on the 18th.
