Dylan Frittelli will join the field at the Workday Charity Open, the first of two events at Muirfield Village, alongside Nick Watney and Denny McCarthy.
Meet MJ Daffue: South Africa’s qualifying star this week
Frittelli, who tested positive for the coronavirus ahead of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, will join Watney and McCarthy in a 9:13am group after the PGA Tour reshuffled the tee times.
The 2019 John Deere Classic winner was originally set to start the tournament with Nick Taylor and Hideki Matsuyama for company.
Seung-Yul Noh and Bo Van Pelt were due to play with Watney while McCarthy was first pencilled in to join Fabian Gomez and Scott Stallings for the opening 36 holes. Those groups will remain as pairs.
The PGA Tour is now using a ‘test-based model for asymptomatic cases in which a player or caddie who tests positive but has not had any symptoms may return to competition if he returns two negative tests results, a minimum of 24 hours apart’.
Cameron Champ played last week in Detroit under the same guidelines.
The Tour said it is following the CDC’s symptom-based model for those three golfers, as they have continued to return positive tests but they all meet the CDC guidelines for return to work.
Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel are both in the field this week.
