Tommy Fleetwood will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Honda Classic at the PGA National Golf Club in Florida, writes ANDRE HUISAMEN.
The Englishman enjoyed a productive day out on the course on Saturday, shooting a solid three-under-par 67 for the round.
Fleetwood’s putter was on song for the majority of his round as he made six birdies over the 18 holes but only to drop three shots in the process.
He will have to fight off America’s Brendan Steele, who is on four under par and in second position for the competition after going one over for his third round.
English duo Luke Donald and Lee Westwood are a further stroke back in T3, while South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel remains in the hunt and will start the final round on two under par and in T5.
Schwartzel could only manage an even-par round and looked consistent throughout his performance on Saturday, but a nasty double-bogey on the par-four 16th prevented him from what would’ve been quite an excellent round.
He will nonetheless be confident with how his week has played out so far and be hoping to build some pressure on the players at the top of the leaderboard on Sunday.
