Charl Schwartzel is one of five South Africans to make the weekend at the 145th Open at Royal Troon after the cut line fell at four-over-par on Friday evening.
The 31-year-old leads the South African contingent at four-under-par and is in a tie for sixth after a second round 66. The next best South African is Richard Sterne who is in a share for 27th place at even-par after shooting a 74 on Friday.
Other to make the weekend are Branden Grace at two-over-par (tied-50th), Zander Lombard at three-over-par (tied-58th) and Haydn Porteous at four-over-par (tied-67th).
Unfortunately Ernie Els, George Coetzee, Brandon Stone and Louis Oosthuizen will not be around for the weekend after enduring disappointing second rounds.
