Frenchman Antoine Rozner sank a 60-foot birdie putt on the final hole to clinch a one-shot victory at the Qatar Masters with South Africa’s Darren Fichardt settling for a share of second place.
Fichardt led the field, heading into the final round in Doha on Sunday, hoping to repeat his heroics from 18 years ago at the event.
What was always going to be a tight battle, Fichardt struggled to stay ahead, while the chasing pack applied constant pressure throughout the day.

It was all but over for Fichardt and the rest of the field, who teed off on the final hole two shots behind on six under.
Fichardt managed to roll in a birdie on the 18th but it wasn’t enough to draw level with Rozner, who was already celebrating in the clubhouse. In the end the South African, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Guido Migliozzi concluded the week on seven under par.
Compleat Golfer‘s playing editor Brandon Stone signed off with a T7 finish on four under with Shaun Norris in T14 on one under par.
Hennie du Plessis and Garrick Higgo both ended on even par, Justin Walters two over, Louis de Jager three over and Wilco Nienaber eight over.
